Our Comprehensive Approach

JEEWAG deploys a comprehensive, community-led model designed to dismantle systemic barriers, mitigate multiple social exclusions, and empower vulnerable women and girls to lead safer, healthier, and more dignified lives. By integrating health, legal, economic, and environmental interventions, we address the root causes of vulnerability while building resilience and sustainable livelihoods.

Advocacy & Human Rights Awareness
  • Fosters community-wide human rights awareness and social justice.
  • Challenges punitive laws, harmful social norms, and institutional policies that marginalize key populations.
  • Documents and reports human rights abuses and structural violence experienced by sex workers.
Access to Health & Psychosocial Support
  • Promotes Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV prevention, and treatment literacy.
  • Facilitates community-led outreach, testing, clinical linkages, and post-abortion care.
  • Addresses Tuberculosis (TB) management and treatment compliance.
  • Combats pervasive stigma, discrimination, and violence within healthcare settings.
Mental Health, Wellness & Self-Care
  • Provides holistic mental health support, stress management, and post-trauma counseling.
  • Deploys harm reduction strategies tailored to community needs.
  • Delivers comprehensive Gender-Based Violence (GBV) response, emergency support, and care for victims and survivors.
Economic Empowerment & Livelihood Options
  • Expands economic choices through adult literacy and targeted technical skills training.
  • Supports self-sustaining, cottage-industry income-generating activities (e.g., artisanal soap making, Vaseline production, and climate-smart agricultural production).
Climate Change & Environmental Action
  • Creates targeted environmental awareness and resilience strategies specifically adapted for lakeside communities and vulnerable landing sites heavily impacted by climate shocks.
Capacity Development & Institutional Strengthening
  • Invests in the continuous professional development of staff, peer leaders, and community members.
  • Strengthens internal systems across project implementation, robust financial management, and resource mobilization.
